Coburn Loves Union-Negotiated Health Plan

on

BY TIM O’CONNOR

I couldn’t believe it! Just when I thought I had wasted an hour at Sen. Tom Coburn’s Town Hall Meeting today, the heavens opened up and rainbows filled the sky.

The best example Sen. Coburn had for employer paid healthcare that was low cost and provided incentives for workers to improve their personal health was Safeway’s union negotiated healthcare plan for its workers.

I tried to alert the press at the event about his statement.

Of course, Coburn didn’t say “union.” I hope the press tells the truth about the statement!

The AFL-CIO supports the public option and is working to educate members to hold politicians accountable.

But until we get the reform we deserve: Want good healthcare you can afford? GET A UNION!!!

The Observer carries on the "give 'em hell" tradition of its founder, the late Frosty Troy. I read it from cover to cover. A progressive wouldn't be able to live in a red state without it.
