How To ‘Gitmo’ Out Of Inhofe

on

BY KAREN WEBB

They had Sen. Jim Inhofe on the local CBS affiliate. He needs to be put in Gitmo. According to him it is the Cadillac of correctional institutions, much better than in the states. There is one big, really big difference. There is no justice at Gitmo. There is very little here, but none there.

If they were picking suspicious people up off the street, not allowing them any rights, leaving them in there for years without charges and only limited access to attorneys with little or no access to the evidence …

Oh, I forgot, some if not all have been tortured. They aren’t given the rights of prisoners in the U.S. because they aren’t in the continental U.S. and most were picked up overseas, but are called “enemy combatants” and not prisoners of war because 9/11 was a terrorist attack by people without a country.

Let’s start the investigation of the GOP takeover of our rights; first pick the entire bunch up, stick them in Gitmo and start the waterboarding and other enhanced interrogation and put it on prime time and see if anyone starts telling the truth – Cheney, Bush and then Inhofe.

Please, someone stick a sock in Inhofe’s pie hole. When he visited Kosovo during the war there he came back talking about how good the lives of the refugees were because some of the children were wearing Nikes and now he says that locking people up for years, without charges, on a small area of Cuba is wonderful. They would be better off with Castro in control of their destiny.

This year let’s waterboard Republicans at the State Fair for entertainment. It isn’t torture and Bill O’Reilly and Dennis Miller want to create a torture amusement park.

My spell checker is suggesting I change Inhofe’s name to Unholy or Unsafe.

  1. Great idea Karen! But how about extending the residency to the entire Congress and Senate with Nancy Pelosi leading the list? What a bunch of stupid boobs who don’t give a whit about Americans and continue throwing our money away on bailouts. Inhofe is like all politicians: All arrogant blow during campaigns and damn the constituents after. Hey he’s elected by the richies and well connected so why should he care about some working stiff in Oklahoma? The quicker, the better for all these fools to take up Gitmo residence.

The Observer carries on the "give 'em hell" tradition of its founder, the late Frosty Troy. I read it from cover to cover. A progressive wouldn't be able to live in a red state without it.
