Observercast Episode 37: When County Commissioners Attack!

on

Oklahomans have been getting a government lesson like no other this year, and county-level government has been center stage. After the economy tanked in March as municipalities shuttered in an effort to control the spread of COVID-19 and Congress cobbled together the CARES Act relief package, states and local governments have been handed millions, if not billions of dollars, to try to mitigate the economic impact of the global pandemic.

In this week’s Observercast – Episode 37: When County Commissioners Attack! – we talked with Carrie Blumert, Oklahoma County Commissioner, about the drama playing out as Oklahoma’s most populous county decides how to divvy up money from the federal government in response to the global pandemic.

The Observer carries on the "give 'em hell" tradition of its founder, the late Frosty Troy. I read it from cover to cover. A progressive wouldn't be able to live in a red state without it.
