It’s difficult enough during ordinary times for rank-and-file Oklahomans to keep up with state government. It became even trickier when lawmakers, responding to the COVID-19 pandemic, abandoned nearly all in-person policymaking in favor of online and teleconference meetings.

To help us understand the perils of virtual decision-making, we turned to one of the state’s leading open meetings experts, Oklahoma State University journalism professor Dr. Joey Senat. He offered tips on what workaday Oklahomans and journalists can do to stay on top of state government cyber-proceedings and to hold our elected and appointed elite accountable.
