Target Practice

on

BY KAREN WEBB

Stop using Puerto Rico for target practice. If you aren’t willing to do it to the continental U.S. then you shouldn’t be doing it to people who aren’t even allowed voting representation in Congress.

What if we used South Texas? A lot of Padre Island is uninhabited. There are huge ares of nothing down there. We could use parts of Florida or uninhabited areas of Hawaii or some other part of our own coast. They already use parts of Oklahoma for land based target practice. Why do we insist on using areas that have no say?

We don’t use parts of the U.S. for target practice because U.S. citizens would not put up with it.

Either make Puerto Rico a state with full voting representation or stop bombing the crap out of it.

The Observer carries on the "give 'em hell" tradition of its founder, the late Frosty Troy. I read it from cover to cover. A progressive wouldn't be able to live in a red state without it.
