As home to 39 federally recognized tribal nations, Oklahoma knows well the cultural, economic and political power of Native America – a fact the rest of the U.S. started to learn this election cycle when Navajo voters not only propelled Democrat Joe Biden to victory in historically-Republican Arizona, but also when Native voters helped send a record number of Native Americans to Congress.
