U.S. Rep. George Santos, R-NY, is just dumb. His scheme to get elected to the Congress in 2022 basically tells me he never thought he would win in the first place. The obvious trails of wrongdoing he left for investigators to follow might as well have included fingerprints, DNA, photographs, videos and tape recordings – which they didn’t; they didn’t, yet indictments quickly came down against Santos.

His downfall is as traceable and simple as something called Watergate from nearly 50 years ago and that is … just follow the money.

His borrowing, money laundering, fake and fraudulent bank accounts, illegal purchases, duplicate documentation and other Monopoly-money-like manipulation and moronic moves means guilty findings and possible removal from Congress are just around the corner … maybe.

You see, even a newly convicted felon can remain on your payroll in DC as an elected poohbah while a mere civil service thief usually heads off to some prison reserved for white-collar crooks and maybe only a footnote in history.

Santos? Maybe a future speakership is in his cards.

The second humdinger, former President Donald John Trump, faces serious, possible felonies in Florida, Georgia and New York but his most recent flirtation with the law is because he did more than flirt back in 1996 with a lady in Bergdorf Goodman, a fashionable clothing store on 5th Avenue.

Seems a jury of his former New York City peers decided, unanimously, that our guy is more than a massive millionaire; he’s also a convicted molester of a woman he had just met by, well, let’s just say, displaying very disgusting behavior 27 years ago in one of the store’s dressing rooms.

Sounds like the evidence must have been pretty compelling; the victim’s testimony believable; and Trump’s failure to testify in person repugnant to the jurors.

Obviously, no jail time can be given for the misdemeanor but Trump is appealing the $5 million fine imposed for attacking a woman he said he had never met, not withstanding a picture that reveals otherwise.

Of course, The Donald says the lady in that pic just ain’t his type – an attractive, young blonde – regardless of the fact he had married two who looked just like her.

Our third reckless rounder is longtime Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas, a man born into abject poverty who, through the love, care and concern of primarily his mom, rose above that horrible beginning; and via an appointment by President George Bush to our highest court now determines the fate of millions, including whether we are even born or not! I’m referring, obviously, to the overturning of Roe v. Wade, a long-held precedent of the court dealing with a woman’s right to abortion.

Thomas, who says for relaxation and escape from the pressures of being a Supreme, he likes to travel our country in his modest mobile home and even parks it in Walmart lots so he can visit with just plain folks.

Well, not always. Seems for the last 20 years he and wife Ginni have been seeing the world courtesy of Harlan Crow, a Texas billionaire who owns airplanes, boats, mansions, yachts and, to some degree, Clarence himself since they are great pals and Crow occasionally has items of business before our land’s highest court.

Of course, Thomas touters see nothing wrong with their cozy comfort for each other and apparently neither do the other court members – led by Chief Justice John Roberts – who do not have an ethics policy, don’t want one and ain’t going to write one.

So, today’s column gives readers a snapshot of why voters are turned off at all three branches of government – Santos in the legislative; Trump in the executive; and Thomas in the judicial – while, ironically, just as we wrap up Mother’s Day, we are reminded Thomas’s benefactor Crow year ago even bought the justice’s mother’s house for her.

Santos is short on cash; Trump desperate for sex; and Thomas seeing the world on Crow’s largesse.

See no evil; hear no evil; speak no evil.

Who do those three think we are? A bunch of monkeys?
