Tonight, Tulsa’s KTUL Channel 8 and other Sinclair-owned stations are refusing to air Jimmy Kimmel – a blatant act of media censorship that should concern every American, no matter your politics.
When corporate owners decide which voices you’re allowed to hear, that’s not “local news” – that’s propaganda by omission.
This isn’t just about comedy. This is about free speech, open discourse, and holding power accountable – the very things democracy relies on.
Silencing satire is the move of regimes, not republics.
We don’t have to agree with every joke, but we should all agree on this:
Comedians should be free to speak. The public should be free to choose. And no media conglomerate should get to decide what we’re allowed to watch.
What Sinclair is doing is wrong. It’s un-American. And we should say so – loudly. – Marlin Lavanhar, Observer Cartoonist
