The Republicans nationwide didn’t offer a positive alternative to Biden’s program.
Of course not. They never do. It’s always criticism, complaints, conspiracies and contradictions without solutions, alternatives or creative ideas. Of course Oklahoma remains fixed in the 19th century with our rural friends and neighbors continuing to vote always against their best interests. That is why their hospitals close, their medical professionals flee to the cities, their kids never come back home from college and now they have elected a state school superintendent who has promised to “voucher” their public schools out of business.
Oh, yes, he has.
For Congress Okies have elected a bunch of election deniers who know better but realize their constituents don’t. Sixty-five percent of state Republicans still worship at the altar of the crook, clown and philander Donald Trump and are proud to do so.
They grin and cheer at his rallies as he takes their money, lies to them endlessly and laughs at them as he boards his plane to go on to the next event, not caring one whit that he is the reason his party did so awful in the midterm election.
Even national Republicans such as Sen. Rick Scott of Florida admit that the party faithful stayed home because his brand of leadership is to not lead at all but to just tear down others and offer no substantive alternatives.
Perhaps I should be happy about the plight of the Elephants in our country but I am not. Verbally destroying others in the name of winning is no way to succeed and will only temporarily bring results followed by widespread rejection.
Yes, it works here in Oklahoma with reactionary, redneck rubes and the people they elect. That doesn’t mean there’s any chance to be in the Top 10 in anything good in the near future and that is the tragedy especially for the next generation or two. They know it and will continue to reflect it by fleeing our state as soon as they can.
Just look around in your small towns and cities in too many of our counties. Yes, there are jobs, football and patriotism. That’s great. There’s also too much bigotry, hatred, despair and despondence. Bubba and Bubbette like it that way. Always have. Always will.
Sad. Just sad. And Jesus may love you, but contrary to popular thought, He can’t save you from everything, especially your own voting proclivities.
