Insurance Reform Follies

on

BY CAROLYN WATERMAN

Are you as embarrassed as I am to have Tom Coburn as one of our senators?

I wrote him today and told him how disgusted I am at his response to that poor lady who was brave to speak out. He was her court of last resort and he demeaned her and condescended to her, and didn’t even look at her when he answered! I asked him if he is really a doctor.

To suggest that “neighbors” should take care of a man in that condition … he needs round-the-clock care, and a visiting nurse daily. If that couple lived in Canada, they would have it.

I have a Dart for you: To a private insurance company that denied a new portable toilet [the present one is duct-taped together] to an MS patient saying it is a “recreational vehicle.”

That is true. It happened to the brother of our Homeland front-end manager. I don’t know what company it is … wish I did.

Can you believe the filth coming from insurance companies?
