It is really unfortunate that the Taliban now have a captive, but it does show how hypocritical we are.

Everyone talks about how awful it is that our American soldier is forced to make a video. I am sure it is terrifying, but it is really tame compared to what we have done.

President Obama has said we get to keep people indefinitely even if we have no evidence, if we think they might do something.

Locking someone up indefinitely can turn someone into a terrorist.

This kid had better hope the Taliban doesn’t use the USA of today as their example on the treatment of prisoners. Of course, the Bush Bunch will say it isn’t their fault – it is the fault of those who actually exposed the torture.

At least the Taliban have allowed this kid to show he is alive and they have also broadcast the idea that he is a person with family, which is more than the USA ever did.

All we knew about our prisoners or even know now is what they want us to know which is these are really bad guys even if we have no evidence. They don’t want us to know if they have a girlfriend or a family. They don’t want us to think they are people or that they are fathers or husbands.
