Oklahoma students are heading back to school this month amid a fourth COVID-19 wave that has sent infections, hospitalizations and deaths soaring. Further complicating matters, children under 12 still are not eligible for the coronavirus vaccines and a new state law prevents schools from imposing mask or vaccine mandates. State Superintendent Joy Hofmeister joins us for this week’s Observercast – What We Can Do Despite Delta – to discuss the anxiety-filled start to the school year and to take a deep dive into what can be done to keep students safe and on track academically.
