‘America Has Never Seen Anything Like It’

on

Is a direct quote from former President Donald Trump in his post-arraignment remarks after returning from Florida to New Jersey. And he said it over and over again. He was referring to all the alleged injustices he has endured – not just now but in years past.

The video I have attached is 33 minutes long. If you have time, please watch it. The former president has always exaggerated and frequently lied about the circumstances surrounding in plight in life. His difficulties are, in his view, always someone else’s fault.

He is the endless victim, overwhelmed by the “deep state” and naturally Democrats. And major elements of the federal government – such as the CIA, FBI, State Department, even the Defense Department – play central roles in all his troubles.

This playbook is getting old. The simple fact is: He illegally took 300 or more classified documents, that were not his, refused to return them, left them in multiple, unsecured locations, exposed them to others with no security clearances, and is now facing the consequences of his lawbreaking.

My fellow veterans know well what would happen to us if we ever abused our security clearances because we are trained and educated about their importance and the danger to our country and our allies should we play fast and loose with that trust.

While stationed at the Pentagon, I had a TS or Top Secret clearance due to my assignment on a secure desk that received regular messages from overseas units. The documents I read were handed to me, from a secure safe; I read them in a secure room; and then returned to the manager of that location and returned to the safe. Signatures, times, number of pages reviewed, etc., were all recorded and then I returned to additional responsibilities in that building.

With material at that level of security a mistake would be a career-ender – or worse.

Trump knew he was breaking the law. Probably most of the people at his golf course listening to his speech knew he was lying, because only complete fools or idiots would believe his version of events relating to the trouble he is in.

The bottom line: This country will have no secure system to protect us from real enemies, foreign and domestic, if this former president is not held accountable for what he has done.

We are all responsible for our actions, both large and small. His was enormous and the totality of the damage done has barely been revealed to date.

A congenital liar is a problem in any setting. As the most powerful person in the world, which he once was, his behavior endangered all of us. And the saddest part is, he thinks he can lie his way out of this situation just as he has all of his life in so many others.

Listen to his speech. Listen to his words. I just report. You decide.
