There is no sugarcoating it: State lawmakers last week utterly failed Oklahoma’s 700,000 public school students – and future generations.
By abdicating responsibility to ensure factual, honest social studies is taught, legislators ceded curriculum control to a demagogic state superintendent who wails incessantly about the dangers of indoctrination, all while engaging in it himself.
Shameful. A dagger to the heart of a chronically underfunded public school system that gives all comers – regardless of race, religion, ability or social status – the opportunity to become all their creator intended.
