Help Us Believe, Mr. President

on

BY NATHANIEL BATCHELDER

Dear President Obama:

REMEMBER ME??

I worked hard to help you get elected.

You were to be the peoples’ servant … not international bankers’.

You were to protect the Constitution … not Wall Street’s profits.

You were to begin withdrawing troops … not escalating.

America needed FDR … not GWBush’s nicer twin brother.

Twenty million young people worked on your campaign.

Their hearts are being broken with disillusionment.

Remember your roots as a community organizer.

Help us believe in politics again.

The Observer carries on the "give 'em hell" tradition of its founder, the late Frosty Troy. I read it from cover to cover. A progressive wouldn't be able to live in a red state without it.
