Observercast Episode 6 – ‘Look Around For Your Partners’ – expands on our discussion of Gov. Kevin Stitt’s standoff with Oklahoma’s sovereign tribal nations over gaming compacts.

Our special guests this week are Cherokee Nation Chief Chuck Hoskin Jr. and former Senate President Cal Hobson.

Sen. Hobson wrote the legislation that set the terms for the 15-year deals under which the tribes and state have been operating. Chief Hoskin is on the front lines of the federal court battle now underway over whether the compacts – as the tribal nations insist – automatically renewed on Jan. 1.
