On The Road: Day III

on

As Oklahoma swelters, longtime Observer contributor Richard L. Fricker continues his annual road trip, this year from Tulsa to Colorado. Today’s stop: Colorado Springs, where it was 57 degrees as he sat outside basking in the splendor of the Rockies and considering the news of the day, much of it devoted to the Aurora shootings and the failure of the “threat assessment teams” designed to prevent such massacres.

Check back for Richard’s regular reports in the days ahead to learn what’s on the minds of Americans in towns along his route.

Fricker’s latest book, The Last Day of the War, is available at www.richardfricker.com.
