When leaders lie,
more concerned with their power
than they are with our lives
and deaths;
When the rich look down,
refuse to acknowledge
that it’s our labor that makes them rich,
that they owe us, not we them;
When we see the world we know
slipping back into the slime
because too many prefer fairy tales
to truth,
Let this be a call to act,
a call to resist the greed
and despair,
a call to unite
To save what’s left
and what’s right
in this country
of ours.
