Observercast

When Pro-Life Is Not Pro-Life

on

Hold two opposing ideas in your mind for a minute: First, the state of Oklahoma has a historic amount of money to appropriate this year. However, the Republican supermajority decided to sit on $1 billion of that money and continue to hold state agency budgets flat, underfunding core services for our most vulnerable citizens. One of those services is the DDSD wait list which remains intractable, despite efforts to eliminate it last year. For this week’s Observercast – When Pro-Life Is Not Pro-Life – we talked with first-term state Rep. Ellyn Hefner, D-OKC, about the complex policy issues surrounding the wait list and the Legislature’s failure to properly tackle a real-world issue impacting thousands of Oklahomans and their quality of life.

The Observer carries on the "give 'em hell" tradition of its founder, the late Frosty Troy. I read it from cover to cover. A progressive wouldn't be able to live in a red state without it.
