The Mueller Report is out but thanks to our new attorney general, Robert Barr, and Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell we are likely never to see its content.
Barr has decided to use his own interpretation of the report as a method to completely exonerate President Trump of any possible wrongdoing even though, apparently, Mueller drew a line that would suggest the Trumpster wasn’t totally blameless.
The House voted without exception to release the full report, but McConnell decided at the last minute to block any vote in the Senate, citing national security concerns. Translate that into protect our dictator-want-to-be at all costs.
The public isn’t going to have its right to know if the Trumpster, Barr and McConnell have their way.
You must ask yourself why? My thoughts are there are things in that report that if they are breathed into the light of day would reflect badly on the Trumpster, possibly his kids and a henchperson or two, so we the public isn’t going to get to see the report. McConnell and Co. want the Trumpster to remain in the White house for another term in order to try and foist more of their right-wing agenda upon the citizens of this nation.
McConnell, Barr and the Trumpster realize that if the full report gets public then his chances of re-election are likely to go down the tubes into the gutter [whence he pretty much lives anyway] and McConnell and Co.’s chances of retaining hold of the Senate would likely go with them.
People keep saying we aren’t going to lose our rights and that this isn’t Germany of the 30’s but slowly but surely this presidency is manufacturing a new normal and like Al Gore’s frog we are so locked into paying attention to all his wild and crazy rants and shenanigans that we have lost sight of how he and his cabal of crooks have trampled upon our rights and freedoms. And how they have been slowly eroded to the point where we have a segment of our society fully in tune with what he is and has been doing to our nation.
We have become so inured with all the lies and how he and his crooked cabinet members – with the aid and abetting of many leaders in the Republican Party – are circumventing our sacred rule of law that we just shrug when he does something that any other president would have faced impeachment for or would have been driven out of office because of.
He is not fit to be our president. And here he is, claiming victory from a document that he swore was a witchhunt and would not be credible when it was finally released. There is something rotten in all of this and to my mind it is the collusion – not with the Russians but between McConnell and the craven cowards that occupy the highest levels of leadership in the Greedy Old Party of Trump.
