Observercast 38: Can Community Policing Come To Sheriff’s Office?

on

Across the nation, the Black Lives Matter movement in response to police brutality has thrust lower-profile local governments under the microscope. That is especially true in Oklahoma’s largest county, where the sheriff’s office lost control of the scandal-plagued county jail and county commissioners came under fire for diverting millions in federal CARES Act funding to jail repairs. In the first of our pre-election Observercasts — Episode 38: Can Community Policing Come To The Sheriff’s Office? — Wayland Cubit, the Democratic nominee for sheriff, details his plans to transform the sheriff’s office and restore public confidence in it.

The Observer carries on the "give 'em hell" tradition of its founder, the late Frosty Troy. I read it from cover to cover. A progressive wouldn't be able to live in a red state without it.
