BY CARL J. RUBENSTEIN

An open letter to Sen. James Inhofe and Sen. James Lankford:

When and where and how will you draw the line, you because you represent the American people, all the people, not just the ones who voted for you or who donated to your campaigns?

When and where and how will you finally tell President Trump that he has gone too far in flouting the precious principles of free speech, including speech that disagrees with or criticizes him, and that punishing or seeking retribution against anyone who does so is neither wise nor acceptable?

When and where and how will you finally tell President Trump that he no longer can flout the role of Congress to balance the role of the president and to oversee the actions of the president?

When and where and how will you finally tell President Trump that you and we no longer will tolerate his flouting of the common decency due to people in general?

When and where and how will you finally show President Trump that he is a servant of the people, not a ruler of the people?

When and where and how will you finally show President Trump that he is not above the law, and that evading the law by threats and lies and insistence on blind loyalty no longer will be tolerated by you nor by the American people?

When and where and how will you finally show President Trump that his hypocritical use of religion is not acceptable to people who really hold dear the principles and core beliefs of all faiths?

When and where and how will you finally tell President Trump that fomenting divisiveness and hatred, scorn and human devaluation are not acceptable, especially not by our president?

The Observer carries on the "give 'em hell" tradition of its founder, the late Frosty Troy. I read it from cover to cover. A progressive wouldn't be able to live in a red state without it.
