The Elephant In The Room Finally Trumpets

on

Mary Trump’s new book, according to a clinical psychologist interviewed on Lawrence O’Donnell’s MSNBC show this week, describes the standard, textbook characteristics of a psychopath.

Sociopathy is just one of those traits. So is malignant narcissism.

She lived close enough to the monster that is her uncle to be able to catalog all those behaviors and their root causes. Bingo! Psychopath.

Why 62 million people voted for this monster remains the next pregnant question needing an answer. Add to that the 92 million people who didn’t vote at all in 2016, and you are looking at the perfect storm for the destruction of our democratic republic.

It’s no coincidence that Vladimir Putin does a happy dance every morning knowing that Trump is his bitch. Trump validates Putin’s agenda to destroy his adversaries for the sake of his own pathetic corruption.

Clinical confirmation of the madman we have as president tells us all we need to know about our immediate future. Trump will, like any proper psychopath, rig the November election.

His pathology is so profound that losing this election simply is not part of his mindset. The fantasy about him quitting or gently leaving office is just that, a fantasy. Psychopaths fight right to the end to preserve their disease. Their views of reality are exclusively centered around themselves and the continued protection of their diseased mind.

When people write to say how put upon Trump is by the media, they miss the point entirely and do nothing but enable their own confirmation bias. They, too, share aspects of Trump’s psychological imbalance.

The aggrieved white male is also intellectually lazy and will succumb to the ravings of Trump because he leads them by blaming everybody else for their [and his own] failures, inadequacies and disappointments.

It also explains why Trump cheats at golf. Golf is hard. Golf defines one’s character. He cheats at golf. Psychopath.

The Observer carries on the "give 'em hell" tradition of its founder, the late Frosty Troy. I read it from cover to cover. A progressive wouldn't be able to live in a red state without it.
